Peace Circle Everyday Heroes
World Children’s Day – 20 November 2025
World Children’s Day (20 November) celebrates the rights of every child – to be heard, to participate, to learn, and to grow in a safe and healthy environment.
Through Peace Circle Everyday Heroes, we highlight these rights in action. Children are not only holders of rights, but also actors:
-
protecting nature and their right to a healthy environment
-
supporting friends and the right to feel safe and respected
-
taking part in decisions and the right to be heard
By celebrating Everyday Heroes, schools show how children’s voice and daily small actions are already shaping the peaceful and sustainable societies of tomorrow.
What is an Everyday Hero?
An Everyday Hero is not a superhero, but a child, student, friend or family member whose small daily acts make a difference. They may act with compassion from the Heart, think with wisdom using the Head and create change with their Hands.
Everyday Heroes are often the quiet ones – the child who listens to a friend, the student who picks up litter, or the young person who cares for a plant. These acts remind us that peace grows through care, consistency and balance.
The Everyday Hero Tree 🌳
In every Peace Circle® park, the Circle of Guardians is formed – a ring of trees surrounding the circle, dedicated to people who make a difference for peace and the environment.
Among these stands one special tree: the Everyday Hero Tree. It is dedicated to everyone whose small daily acts with Heart, Head and Hands help to build peace.
Planting such a tree shows that even the quietest actions can take root and grow. It also reminds us that children have the right to green spaces – Peace Circle parks make this right visible as places where children can gather, breathe, learn and act for peace in nature.
